Terresa Humphries-Wadsworth, a licensed psychologist and highly experienced public speaker, is an expert in mental health promotion, suicide prevention, postvention, and behavioral health crisis care.
A skilled manager and leader with a deep commitment to improving outcomes for individuals with suicide risk, she has over 25 years of clinical experience providing mental health services in frontier, rural, and urban settings.
Dr. Humphries-Wadsworth is the associate project director for the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention and Suicide Prevention Resource Center. Recently, she led a team of national experts in developing the Best Practices in Care Transitions for Individuals with Suicide Risk: Inpatient Care to Outpatient Care. She was co-lead in developing the State Suicide Prevention Infrastructure report and led the development of Engaging People with Lived Experience: A Toolkit for Organizations.
Previously, Dr. Humphries-Wadsworth was the contracted director of statewide suicide prevention in Wyoming. Under her leadership, Wyoming developed a statewide infrastructure for integrating suicide prevention with substance abuse prevention at the community level.
Dr. Humphries-Wadsworth holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University.
