For over a decade, the Vermont Suicide Prevention Symposium (VSPS)—formerly organized by the Vermont Suicide Prevention Center (VTSPC) in partnership with the Center for Health and Learning (CHL)—served as a vital gathering place for professionals, educators, and advocates committed to mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
Funded by the State of Vermont, this annual event provided invaluable resources, in-person and virtual trainings, and statewide collaboration to build a more resilient and supported community.
As the world evolved, so too did our mission. Today, the Vermont Suicide Prevention Symposium has transformed into a dynamic news and media portal, broadening its purpose while staying true to its core value—supporting individuals and communities in need.
Now known simply as VSPS, our platform is dedicated to helping retirees, caregivers, and vulnerable populations by delivering up-to-date information on government-supported programs and financial aid schemes across the United States and Canada.
From Social Security and IRS tax relief updates to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and food stamps, we ensure our readers have access to the critical information that can impact their quality of life.
With a continued commitment to accessibility and education, we use our decade of expertise in event management and resource delivery to provide timely, clear, and accurate updates on:
- Social Security payments and COLA adjustments
- Stimulus checks and tax credits
- SNAP benefits and food security programs
- Canadian retirement and support schemes including CPP, OAS, and more
Although our focus has shifted from symposiums to media, our mission remains rooted in service and outreach. We believe that information is empowerment, and we strive to help individuals navigate complex systems and secure the support they deserve—especially in challenging times.
As a platform that once brought people together through shared learning and awareness, VSPS now brings that same spirit into the digital space.
We are proud to continue our legacy of service in a new format—amplifying voices, guiding the vulnerable, and providing crucial updates that support mental and financial well-being across North America.
