Pete Cudney

Licensed Clinical Social Worker — Child Welfare Training Partnership at the University of Vermont

Pete Cudney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has focused his career on understanding child development, attachment, and the impacts of trauma.

Pete has directed wilderness therapy programs and intensive residential treatment centers. He has practiced as a child and family therapist for over twenty years, focusing on supporting attachment and helping families heal after trauma.

Pete has evaluated children impacted by developmental trauma and testified on their behalf. He has been a trainer on child development and trauma for many public schools in Vermont, the Department of Mental Health, and the Department for Children and Families.

In his current role, Pete is a staff with the Child Welfare Training Partnership at the University of Vermont. He is a trainer for the professional workforce in the Department for Children and Families. Pete owns Cudney Consulting, LLC, providing clinical and systems consultation.
